Sun 31 Aug - ADULT Sunday Tennis Afternoon/Sausage Sizzle, Caterson Tennis Centre Whilst they may currently be playing the US Tennis Open in New York at the moment, we had our own competitive tennis at the "Castle Hill Open". Eight people, including one prospective member, and an even split of guys and girls enjoyed an exciting afternoon of tennis.
Grahame Sat 30 Aug - ADULT Dinner and Dance night at the Wentworthville Leagues ClubAround 20 members attended the Wenty Leagues club to dine at the bistro then dance to the all girls band 'The Frocks'. The band proved to be a popular outfit with it's own following of rather interesting looking women. Nobody seemed to mind as everyone took a turn on the dance floor to the beat of the popular classics. Numbers were boosted later in the evening when some members dropped in to strut their stuff. It turned out to be a popular and inexpensive Saturday night out with a good time being had by all.
Col Fri 29 Aug - ADULT Drinks and Dinner at Greengate HotelWe had a great night wining and dining at the Greengate! A group of 20 turned up and enjoyed catching up with friends on a Friday night. We stared with drinks in the main bar followed by dinner in the elegant Italian Portico Restaurant and were served a variety of delicious Italian meals. Great seting, relaxed and happy atmoshpere and good food put everyone in a very happy mood! Welcome to the new members who joined or rejoined us after a break. It was fantastic to see 6 new members having good time and making new friends in the group!

Sat 23 Aug - ADULT/FAMILY Dinner at Eastwood Rugby ClubLast night we had a total of attendance of 47, about half being adults. Chinese meals were the most popular. The kids were entertained with both the Olympics telecast as it is now drawing to a close, and some played on the oval.
Meals were very cheap but were generous serves. I am pretty sure everyone enjoyed themselves.
Carolyn Fri 22 Aug - ADULT Drinks and Dinner at the Longueville HotelApparently, the wet and windy winters night was too challenging for our most
of our men folk, which meant that 3 lucky guys were able to bask in the warm
glow from 7 of the loveliest ladies in the trendy ambience of the
Longueville Hotel. With the olympics as the backdrop we enjoyed our bistro
meals, drink and chat befrore leaving at 11pm.

Fri 15 Aug - ADULT Friday Night Out at The Vines BistroWe had 16 women and 11 men, which included 1 new prospective member and a visitor.
We all sat warmly amongst the heaters while chatting and enjoying our meals. The $10 cook your own steak proved to be great value! Thanks to Kevin for hosting and on having such a successful first function.

Sun 10 Aug - ADULT/FAMILY Family McDonalds Lunch & Putt Putt Golf DuralBeautiful sunny skies soon turned to clouds, wind and rain while we were at McDonalds. Would the rain clear we asked? Should have had a sand wedge (siz) at home I guess and missed burgers.. GUR! We ended relocating to ice skating, we lost Bruce and Neria on the way. So around 4 adults and 12 children braved the ice and enjoyed a skate. Hot coffee and cake upstairs in the cafe with the other 4 adults was a definite favourite to end the avo. Rob Sat 09 Aug - ADULT Adult Games Night While the eyes of the world were focused on the olympic games, 15 men and 12 women comprising of athletes, officials (Ken) and camera crew (David) braved the wintry cold to attend the SWC games night at Glenhaven. Due to the sheer number of competitors, teams were selected to compete in various sports (Taboo, Trivial Pursuit, Poker, Who what where). After an initial warm up, muscles were flexed and the night heated up. Competition was strong in the poker arena with Rod and Bruce vying for gold. Of course all the women played fair with Meredith way out front in her field. Medics were on standby in case Laurel needed to attend to her sore cheek muscles from 'laughing too much'. Some found Taboo challenging and on a more serious note, Ray had to be cautioned for cheating. There were many new faces willing to give it a go. Well done to all competitors. Sat 02 Aug - ADULT Dinner at Belmonte's Pizzeria On Saturday 2 August 16 SWC members crammed into Belmonte's Pizzeria for the dinning part of the night. We consumed a variety of Italian cuisine including salad's, pasta's & pizza's. After dinner half of the group kicked on across the road to the Bull'n Bush Hotel and were joined by other members of SWC also out for a few drinks.

Fri 01 Aug - ADULT Dinner at The Upper Duck, Mosman HotelFive men and seven women, including three new/potential members came along
to the Upper Duck in Mosman for Friday night drinks and quality food at
bargain prices. Added to what was an enjoyable evening, some of us had our hair done for free too as Toni & Guy were doing a promotion at the venue.

Sun 27 Jul - ADULT/FAMILY Winter Picnic at Boronia ParkLocation was changed to Ruddock Park, Westleigh, as Boronia Park was still being renovated.
We had 6 Women, 4 Men and 12 children venture out to this fabulous park on Sunday.
The children kept themselves entertained riding their scooters and bikes around the bike track, chasing bubbles from the groups new bubble machine, playing on the Pirate ship playground and kicking around the footy.
The Adults enjoyed catching up over cups of tea and homemade slices.
We all enjoyed the winter sun and timed it perfectly to leave at 4pm when the rain arrived.
A fun day was had by all, this park is a definite repeat function.
Thanks to all who attended to make for such an enjoyable day.
Many Tks

Sat 26 Jul - ADULT Thai Spice Restaurant NightWe had an enjoyable winter evening at the Thai Spice Restaurant. Sixteen people attended and two people had to leave before dinner. The food was very tasty and the service efficient. Hope those who attended enjoyed the evening. Lorraine. Sat 19 Jul - ADULT Annual Xmas in July PartyAbout 80 people came along to celebrate Christmas in July, with enough merriment to rival World Youth Day. Fires kept the house warm and the outdoor heater meant that Kiara (our dog) had plenty of company downstairs/outdoors. Peter did a great job with the music, and there were decorations all over, including a very sparkly tree, courtesy of the kids. Guests brought lots of really good food. I really appreciate the fact that some people went to a great deal of effort.
There were about equal numbers guys to girls and I believe there were quite a few first or second timers with some new members signing up on the night.
Happily there were enough skip bins in the area to take the excess of camel/elephant/donkey and goat manure (but the lawn will never be the same!).
It was great to see some old friends and I really believe everyone enjoyed the night. Roll on Xmas!
Mike M Fri 18 Jul - ADULT Drinks/Dinner on the Terrace at The Lane Cove ClubOn a cold july friday night when i only expected about ten people to brave it on the terrace at the Lane Cove Club ten ladies and ten men arrived to double my reservation. It then became a much warmer night and i hope everyone enjoyed themselves!
Vivienne Sat 12 Jul - ADULT Hogs Breath Dinner, Castle HillNot a bad turn out to Hogs Breath Cafe on Saturday night - 21 adults in all! We had a good number of new and potential new members so keep up
those recommendations everyone. 12 ladies and 9 guys crowded into the lively bar on arrival while we waited for our huge table to be ready.
After some free garlic bread to compensate for a menu change we all enjoyed our steaks, salads, ribs, chicken, salads and curly chips. After
lots of fine wines, beer, softdrinks, teas and coffees and the biggest desserts you've ever seen, we finally called it a night at 11.15pm. Thanks
all for such an enjoyable night. We even had some money left over to donate back to the group thanks to Col's voucher. We'll be back! Diane Back to Top
