The Beach House

Come and join in the fun of an adult weekend away. Lets have one last summer fling together before winter sets in. Sydney Beachouse is located at Collaroy beach. On Friday night make your own way to Collaroy and arrange your own dinner or once the group meets up we can all arrange to go for dinner together somewhere locally. On Saturday we can enjoy the beach together, explore Collaroy or just have a relax in some of the cafes. The group will eat together on Saturday night by the Marina. We will be joined by fellow SWC members for dinner who could not make it for the whole weekend. Sunday make your own way home. All bedding is provided, but you must bring your own towel. The following costs apply - $40.00 for a four share room, $50.00 for a twin share, $100.00 for a double room. You must contact Deborah to confirm that you are going. Payment will be via direct deposit into the SWC bank account. You must pay before the weekend away. Numbers for this event are limited so please get in and pay early.

Join Peter for some great live Jazz music, free of charge in upper north shore location, 1 minute walk from shops and railway station, toilets open all evening. Arranged through Kuringai Council. BYO rugs/chairs, food, drink. Children are welcome but must be supervised. Park has an enclosed children's playground. No need to book, but it would help to have SMS as indication of numbers. No room for bunting, but SMS/call Peter's mobile on the night, if you have trouble finding us.

Disc Golf and lunch at The Brewery

Have you ever tried Disc Golf? Come along and let's give it a go. We will follow this by lunch at The Brewery. Disc Golf is played with frisbees. Throwing them in to baskets with as few throws as possible. BYO frisbee and it's free, or hire a frisbee at the venue. We will play (and no doubt laugh, whilst pretending to be exercising)till about 12:30 then head down to The Brewery for a well earned lunch.

With a wonderful family atmosphere, Balmoral Beach is the perfect place to chill out and enjoy the last day of Summer. Come along even if your children are not with you. BYO food and drinks or purchase lunch from nearby fish & chips or hamburger shops. There are very nice lattes and cakes available within walking distance. Don't forget to bring a rug or fold up chairs to sit on, swimmers, sun screen, towels, etc. Meet near the Dog statue next to the rotunda.

Mitchell Library is celebrating 100 years & today you can see 100 artifacts and museum pieces rarely on display, including Captain/Governor Bligh’s Log and some of Sydney's most treasured and fascinating manuscripts, maps, relics, rare books, photographs and paintings. This will be an educational & entertaining experience for all. The building is a magnificent piece of Architecture named after Thomas Mitchell, a great Explorer & Surveyor. Last time was a big hit at the Putt Putt Golf so now it's time to get back into the swing! Three great courses to choose from. There are also group rates for 12 or more players where 2 courses (18 holes per game) is $16 for adults and $13 for children.

Bushwalk - Sphinx track - 9.5 km Kuringai National Park

This great walk starts at the Sphinx Memorial and loops around via Cowan Creek, exploring diverse environments and lovely water views. This 9.5km slow-paced family walk will take up to 5 hours and is most suitable for ages 6 and up (if the child is a good walker). Bring your lunch/water in a backpack. There is an icecream stop option for a recharge before the 450m climb back up to the Sphinx.

Join your friends for dinner at Play Planet. Menu includes curries, lasagne, chicken satays, caesar salads, fish n chips and a selection of popular children's meals.
